While local families knew Ryleigh for her infectious warmth, her colleagues and students at the Fulton City School District knew her as an extraordinary professional. Working as a school aide at Volney Elementary School, Ryleigh’s natural ability to connect with and support young children was evident immediately. After only a single year of service, she was honored with the prestigious Golden Apple Award for an exemplary job well done—a rare feat for a first-year educator.
Beyond her daily support in the classroom, Ryleigh used her immense artistic talent to transform her workplace. She was known throughout the district for her beautiful, hand-painted wall murals at the school, turning plain hallways into bright, welcoming spaces. As those close to her recalled, “Ryleigh made the world a colorful place everywhere she went.
Ryleigh was deeply rooted in the tight-knit communities of Oswego County. Raised in Hannibal by her loving parents, she graduated and built a life that embraced the beauty of Upstate New York.
An avid crafter, traveler, and outdoor enthusiast, Ryleigh could often be found walking the local trails with her beloved dog, Koda, or caring for her cherished pet tortoise, Ozzie. Her recent wedding to Matthew Graham was a celebration of a beautiful seven-year journey together, uniting two local families who are now navigating this unimaginable loss.
Ryleigh is survived by her husband, Matthew R. Graham of Oswego; her parents, Michael and Joni (Bergan) LaRock of Hannibal; her brother, Nathan LaRock of Hannibal; her paternal grandfather, Robert (Sandy Loveland) LaRock of Fulton; her parents-in-law, Robert and Alicia Graham of Oswego; her brother-in-law, Brandon (Becca Marsh) Graham of Fulton; her bonus sister, Maddy DeNise of Baldwinsville; her maternal grandparents-in-law, Guy and Sandy Yerdon of Fulton; her maternal grandfather-in-law, Michael Ladd of Central Square; her paternal grandparents-in-law, Douglas and Dorothy Graham; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Richard, Eileen, and Constance Bergan, and her paternal grandmother, Carol LaRock.
